OK, these are some of the projects I've been working on. I'm quite proud of the new 2-disc Quentin Crisp reissue. It's here, in all its finery.

Other reissue projects that are either completed or imminent include Blood And Roses (useful for those of you who wondered what all that 'positive punk' thing was about back in the day), King, Dead Or Alive (the first album), The Gist's (aka Stuart Moxham of Young Marble Giants' pedigree) Embrace The Herd, and finally the Photos. The latter's been a bit of an epic undertaking, but we've managed to track down all four former band members to contribute to the project, plus others. It's also a nice story in of itself, in that the Photos were meant to sign with Cherry Red nearly three decades ago at the label's outset, and now finally find themselves back there after we licensed the album from CBS/Sony.
I do a lot of reissue project management these days, and I enjoy it enormously. Of the dozen or so I've worked on in the past year or so, they've all been completely unique. Getting all your ducks in a row in terms of artist co-operation, licensing, publishing etc is quite a challenge, and I can't think of one that hasn't thrown up an interesting new hurdle I haven't thought of. Also, on a few of these I've taken a backseat from writing the sleevenotes, where someone better informed deserves a shot, or where the band members want to write them. The one I'm proudest of so far is actually getting the Dancing Did's album re-released, featuring fabulously comprehensive liners from Mick Mercer. Never thought I would be as proud of anything I wasn't involved in writing about, but that's definitely the case here. Again, consult your Cherry Red website if you're interested.
